To Find Mr Right

To Find Mr Right Dear Doctor, I'm one of the readers of your column,YOU & UR HEALTH.I am a 21yrs old female student of OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY AGO IWOYE. Sir,I have a little problem. I started dating guys after my 20th birthday. Since that time till date, I have dated up to 6 guys at different times and I end up dumping them one after the other. The problem is I never really get to know them until I have spent time with them. So, after 2 or 3 weeks,I find out that we are not really compatible and then I quit. No sex. Now, the problem is, how do I find him(Mr Right) or how do I know if I have found him? I need someone who shares stuff with me, is compatible and makes me happy. I know no one is perfect. Please reply through my mailbox. Wanda Ademodi, Iyin-Ekiti, Dear Wanda, Your no sex policy is fantastic. Keep it up--it gives peace of mind and relative safety -- from STD's; HIV; Unwanted Pregnancy;Blocked Fallopian tubes; Ectopic Pregnancy; Infertility; Cancer of the Cervix; Criminal Abortion; Septic Abortion and Death. That's apart from all the bad blood; bad moods and bad conscience between you and the unwilling father of your unfortunate offspring. Remember, to abstain is the first, best and golden rule of prevention. Now, about boys-- I can tell from your write-up that you haven't found him yet. But keep looking; you definitely will find him. And when you do, you'll know--oh you'll know it so much that you'll be the one telling me and everyone else "I've found him!!" Suppose you were born blind but after an operation you can now see. Would you need anyone to tell you you are now seeing? No. You would know it without anyone telling you when you can see. That's the way it is. Keep looking and hoping. He'll soon surface, I guarantee you. How to find him faster? Have you tried prayer--deep; heart--felt and sincere? Cheers

Monthly Malaria!!!

Dr Caleb Bibbi Oluranti, Please l want to know this now and still tell me what to do about it l always having malaria every month l eating every well and taken tablet for it. please tell me what to do that can sustained for 6 month or forever. Please reply to me thanks. Remain blessed UMB, Benin City Dear UMB, Your complaint is one that is increasingly becoming rampant and I have the pleasure to reveal the approach to it that we have found very successful. About half a dozen factors come to mind when folks complain of frequent malaria at times like these in our clime: 1.Chloroquine Treatment Failure:divided into at least 3 or 4 subtypes. Most of us in Nigeria grew up learning that the drug of choice to treat malaria is chloroquine. Not any more!!! The bugs that cause malaria, known by the family name Plasmodium have about 4 brothers-- "Ovale", "Malariae" , "Vivax" and of course, the much dreaded "Falciparum"; the "firstborn" and toughest among them. This Falciparum Plasmodium or more correctly, Plasmodium falciparum causes chloroquine --resistant malaria. Even if one used all the correct doses of chloroquine, if the bug causing this particular episode of malaria is already chloroquine --resistant, then the result will be CTF. 2. The dosage of chloroquine -- even when people try to use it is generally incorrectly apprehended. For the avoidance of doubt; of course, it is 4, 4, 2 -- or 2, 2 1-- that is 4 tabs daily for 2 days and 2 tabs the third day, all taken at once each day; or half the dose for children from about 12 years up. Most folks trying to treat malaria never complete the dose--and that, with a drug that is getting increasingly less effective on account of parasite--resistance! Of course, they are going to get malaria again and again!!! So, that's another cause of CTF!!! 3. Injection Chloroquine. A subdivision of this type of factor is when doctors/health professionals give patients injection chloroquine to treat malaria--which is a faux pas-- never to be done.Excepting where the patient is vomiting. Injection chloroquine stays in the blood for only 6 hours; tablet forms stay for 28 days!!! 4. There is a fourth cause of CTF --the peculiarly Nigerian factor that Dr Mrs Dora Akunyili has been trying to fight so impressively-- and that is the faking of the drug itself. Most people do not understand the philosophy of faking. The drugs are tampered with or made to incorrect specifications-- containing maybe 20%, 70%, 90% or even 0% of the active ingredient; in this case, chloroquine. Of course this contributes to CTF also. 5.There is another Nigerian factor that I have learnt to develop a high index of suspicion for. And that is the Agbo (concoction) factor--- many Nigerians know--and correctly too-- that certain herbs --like the neem plant (dogoyaro); lemon grass and so on can be used to treat fevers. Of these I am also aware; but I think failure to get well follows on the incorrect application of dosages and duration of treatment --not to talk of method of preparation--- of the needed concoction. So a lot of people are trying to use herbs and not getting it correct and find themselves still suffering malaria. 5. But suppose it is no longer malaria -- or it was not even malaria in the first instance? It could be malaria or any of what I call the "Fifteen Funny Fevers" that a doctor must keep in mind when tackling a persistent fever of unknown origin. Is it typhoid--like above? Or a viral infection? All fever is not malaria. Malaria, Typhoid and Septicaemia (bacterial blood poisoning) should be the 3 in the first league. After which the doctor should list the Viral Fevers-- the general ones that cause debility or Flu-like symptoms of catarrh and so on; Hepatitis and the Upper respiratory tract infections-- pharyngotonsilitis, bronchitis, bronchiolitis. The enteric fevers--"younger brothers" to typhoid should never be forgotten. Then, of course should come the childhood--associated Pneumonia, Measles and Meningitis. That's at least all of ten. The ladies should not be forgotten with their PID (Pelvic Inflammatory disease), Upper (Pyelonephritis) and lower UTI, Cholecystitis ( or Gall Bladder infection) TB--Tuberculosis -- takes the rear. Now, the God--help--me truth is that you could be suffering any of these diseases --and more --Lassa Fever, Chronic Grumbling Appendicitis, --name it. You see, many diseases come up with a fever and it gets so confusing --but that is the job of the doctor. To have a high index of suspicion of certain diseases and ferret them out of their hiding places in your body by the appropriate interviewing, examination and investigations. 6.It is becoming more clear that some patients will benefit from a boost to their immunity when they begin to have too frequent bouts of malaria/typhoid or other fevers and I have found the simple solution a times is just to boost their immunity using the appropriate nutritional supplements --especially in high doses. I have found this to be highly effective in these types of cases. My advice to you is see a highly experienced doctor who will do a thorough check on you to get to the root of your complaints. Cheers PS Nobody uses ordinary Chloroquine to treat malaria anymore; what is used is Artemisinin in combination with any older ant-malarial-- maybe chloroquine or camoquine or fansidar or halofantrine or quinine etc. we call this new approach, Artemisisnin Based Combination (ABC) therapy and though this question borders on just chloroquine, even today with ABC, the truths outlined in this write -up are useful still

HIV Positve; Partner Negative

HIVPositve; Partner Negative DOCTOR, HAPPY NEW YEAR,MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS U 4 D GOOD WORK U ARE DOING. PLEASE I NEED U 2 EXPLAIN HOW WE we can start having babies. I am 26yrs HIV positive and I have a guy who wants 2 marry me. He is 34yrs and he is a lawyer he loves me and he wants 2 marry me but he said he does not know how we can start having babies without he contracting it.So i need your help and advice. I started taking d retroviral drugs since April 2011 and i discovered that my breast is bringing out milk. They prescribed bromagon 4 me I took d whole dose which is in d bottle but d milk is still coming out. So please i need your help i have not allowed him 2 touch me yet because I don't want him 2 know about d breast milk that is coming out and he said he wants to settle down as soon as possible with me. Please reply me. Thank u Laura, Lokoja Dear Laura, You must understand one thing, both of you. Love is the greatest. Love is the strongest force in the universe -- and that is what you both have between you and in your arsenal. Of course, if this boy does not love you, he cannot think of marrying you, no to talk of proposing; right? If you love him, tell him all-- milk from breast and all -- and see -- if he will not love you the more. You don't understand? Well God is love -- that's what the Good Book says!!! And many waters cannot quench the fire of love. Love also covers a multitude of sins; so be free and fully naked before your lover-- there is no fear in love; see? Good. Catching the disease? Well, even though there is love, it is always wise to be reasonable. Catching the disease from man to woman is faster than from woman to man; that’s for one -- this is because the surface area of the genitals from where the bug can be caught, you will agree is much wider in the woman than in the man. But again, you have been on ARV's -- so your viral load should be minimal. Now ARV's are soon to be free; it will be even easier to procure the precious meds. Another positive factor for both of you. Now, to catch disease from partner to the other is not automatic. The defense capabilities of all humans are not the same -- one person can resist disease better than another; so, it is possible he may never catch anything from you. If you add faith to all that and then one last ingredient -- make the faith active -- come see us or some other doctor/priest who understands these things-- I can guarantee you that you will never get him infected; okay? Nor your babies -- though transmission / infection rates from mother to child is like just 13 --20 %. Do not neglect to contact us — we can and will help you. So on balance I would encourage you to go for love --it conquers all things. To you the lady particularly I would say do not postpone marriage for any excuse or reason; okay? Marry your loving suitor and deal with the challenges in the way I suggested. You will testify. (But if after all I have said anyone of you still has some fears, forget what I said and play safe; okay? Faith works wonders, yes; but fear does the opposite; okay?) Cheers

Confused; Clarify--Sex,Staph,Prostate,STD's

Pls Doc, I am the one that called you yesterday, I am a 33yr old man from Enugu State. I have a serious problem which is trying to ruin my life.I engaged in a relationship which has resulted to marriage, presently I am now faced with these sexual problems. 1. I am unable to go more than one round , and release my load in a second. 2. After releasing I could not go again until the next day. 3.The most worried is that I cannot have and maintain a good and strong erection,my manhood always as soft as foam. 4. My early morning erection is no longer there. 5.During ejaculation my semen used to shoot but now it oozes out. Please I am always ashamed of my self whenever she calls for sex.I am thinking of loosing my life than leave and seeing myself in this unbearable condition. She is treating to leave me if there is no solution to it.I also pity her for what she has being undergoing for so long. I was subjected to a lab. test and below are the result. *Motility rate 10% Actively motile 30%. *Sperm count 5x1000000 cells. *Viscosity.. slightly viscous. *Pus cells... 1-3hpf ph 7.5. *Morphology..25% abnormal cells. The test also showed that I have a STAPH AUREUS infection. Please I still count on you for help. Do not publish. keep it secret.. thanks for your urgent reply. Andrew Youngers, Enugu Dear Andrew Youngers, Your case -- and this case I quote following-- "Please Sir, I am a 19 year old boy who needs your help urgently. I read an article in your column of Sun newspaper[4/05/05], it was there there I discovered I should mail you. My problem is that any time I go to use the toilet there is always this thing that comes out of my penis[like semen]. Sir I don't feel any pain except in my waist region. Please what is this . Is it CPR. I will appreciate your reply[ possibly soonest. [I've never slept with any girl in my life] Thanks for the reply. Bye" both show very clearly the link between three or four very seemingly unrelated concepts or words a)Sexual inadequacy(SXI) or erectile dysfunction b)Chronic Prostatitis(CPR) and c)Staphylococcus aureus d)Sex, no sex and STD's In a nutshell, understand that staph --or any other germ; some std, some not can invade a male's system, infect his prostate give him a CPR and then cause SXI secondary to the CPR. In my experience, CPR --hidden, unsuspected, undiagnosed(by SFA--seminal fluid analysis with m,c,s-- is the cause of up to 85% --if not even more of SXI.Too may feel that all these has got to have a link or the other with sex. True and false. CPR, like PID both can be caused by either STD germs or UTI germs or any other general germ that takes their fancy. If, like in staph, a general germ is causing problem in the sexual areas, it does not mean that it is sexually transmitted-- only that it is doing havoc in that area. This is important for cases like the 19 year old virgin boy who has CPR or the 18 year old virgin girl who has PID. It does not imply that they were not chaste-- every one must understand this. And the only way to settle that is extensive interview, appropriate examination and laboratory tests that tell us what type of germ we are dealing with; okay? No generalizations; no jumping to any conclusions. Send to staphdoctor@yahoo.com ; or betterloverz@yahoo.com to access very useful information on how to stop these menaces. Not to publish? But that's how all --including you-- have benefited and are still benefiting. We publish--but change your ID and location. And that is good enough for all. Cheers

How Fertile Am I?

How Fertile Am I? Dear Doctor, I have undergone several several semen analyses, and each time, it has indicated low sperm count and poor motility. The semen is however drawy.I then had a hormonal analysis, which suggested that I have increased prolactin, and decreased testosterone. Could you please let me know what is responsible for this, and what drugs could be used to correct it? While I appreciate that it may not be possible for you to personally reply to every mail that you receive, I will nonetheless appreciate if you could oblige me with a personal reply. Many thanks, JKO, Ugep, Cross River Dear JKO, You do not give your age or circumstance: Are you married? Trying for a baby?hormonal imbalance is usually the hidden factor to look for in infertility and sexual inadequacy--the doctor has not properly investigated you who has not made sure your hormones are all correct --if you are looking for a baby or are having sexual frustrations or difficulties. And that statement is true for both males and females--absolutely no difference. The relevant hormones to check out in infertility treatment in the female are a) Prolactin which helps her to produce milk for breastfeeding a baby; b)FSH or Follicle Stimulating Hormone--which helps the ovary produce eggs for fertilization,; c)Leuteinizing hormone --which helps the ovary to produce progesterone that establishes the pregnancy and d)Progesterone-- without a sufficient amount of which a woman cannot get pregnant. The same hormones are tested in the male --except for this difference--that Testosterone instead of Progesterone is tested. Now, testosterone is a very important hormone in the male helping to make a man a man --as in high libido, sexual aggressiveness and assertiveness--in short-- male virility. Prolactin,if whether in the male or the female means decreased libido and reduced fertility. For because --think about it -- it is telling the female's (and male too) system that she needs no baby since she is (equivalent to) breastfeeding a baby with her high prolactin levels. The biggest thing, however is that your hormonal imbalances are treatable-- by a doctor of course, who understands it --and you yourself will testify that very few do. Else it would not take so long to get your hormones checked since your semen analyses were always awry. You need to let an expert do it. I'm sure you do see that by now? Expert treatment will not only get your sperm count up; But it'll get you to impregnate your wife By the Grace of Almighty God while it Restores your stamina and ability sex wise turning you into a darling of your wife again-- A hungry lion! The issues involved are intricate so understand that any doctor wanting to help you he'll need need to see u first -- absolutely non negotiable and you'll need to go see him with all your results .And its only then you'll know how much it'll cost. But it won't be cheap----Soup wey sweet; na money kill am. However, remember that most doctors treating infertility understand the pressure on the pocket and ensure treatment is pocket -friendly. If you want to see us we have sent you details--by God's grace you won't fail this time --if indeed (and it seems very likely) you are looking for a baby. Don't waste time and money any further. Give it the best you've got Cheers

ABC to be a Rape Survivor

ABC of Rape Dear Dr, I was gang-raped three days ago by some boys and I am seriously confused; I don’t know what to do. Please advise me Linarita, Lanlate, Oyo State Dear Linarita, Very sorry about your plight but these things happen and everyone— (all women especially since children and men can also be raped) has to listen well and learn what to do about rape because its getting increasingly common. I’ll call this write-up the ABC of rape. First is A-APART—you need to go settle down somewhere safe and compose yourself – that’s of course after crying and being shocked and numbed and feeling like suicide. All that is normal. You need to think and review the situation and make important decisions. So find a safe place and make up your mind on some issues. Do you want to keep quiet about it or get justice or just want an apology—the whole choice is yours but you must set APART all the evidence so you can make your point well when you decide to do so.Don’t wash, don’t clean up, don’t remove your clothes or any torn clothing or pants; don’t do anything that will change the evidence. Keep all evidence apart; sit down; set time apart and even WRITE what happened --so you can recall it better when and if you need to. Maybe you are so confused you don’t know what to do? That brings us to B—BULWARK or Support. You need a bulwark – strong support in the situation you find yourself . which friend, sister, relative acquaintance do you want to call and confide in and rely upon for help and general emotional, physical and other kinds of support at this time? This brings us to the next point, C—CALL or calling the police. If you need to call us and we'll help you--see the numbers below. It is a good thing to have someone go with you to the police; a times you must be warned—they can be very funny and the reason is, generally men(most police are men) believe that any woman reporting rape was complicit in the act. In other words they may not be too sympathetic because they tend to feel you were careless. But when you go with somebody else they may be forced to be more humane. Bits of the rapists hair or strands of fabric or maybe a belt or shoe or torn shirt etc will definitely interest the police as evidence. D. DOCTORS. In their search for evidence, the medical will come into play so they will arrange for you to be seen by a doctor and the evidence you preserved will come in very handy. Any semen or male discharge even if dried on your body or genitals, blood , bruises, etc will be detailed by the doctor who will take care to examine you after taking specimens for lab tests of STD’s /HIV etc. The doctor may need a urine specimen to check out if you drugged in cases where this happened. Apart from these, it’s only a doctor that can help you make sure you do not get pregnant and bring a rapist’s bastard into the world. Again, you can call or e mail us or visit our blog at www.mediamedix.blogspot.com to access quality help.E stands for EXPEL or expelling the evil from your system.Any woman who has undergone rape needs to be mended emotionally and even spiritually of her wounds which are internal. It is only a counselor that can help you expose and expel whatever psychological or spiritual demons are lurking in your inner man. Your self respect, self assurance, self-respect, self esteem all need to be restored-- that's on the psychological level. On the spiritual, I affirm that evil spirits take advantage of folks who are battered and shocked and use such opportunity to jump inside people and torment them. A wise counselor/pastor will help you exorcise all such problems as difficulty relating with men after rape, fear of sex; constantly recurring memories of the rape attack; feelings of guilt and regret that perhaps you were responsible for the attack and so on. this, I find, is key to being a rape survivor rather than a rape victim. A final word on how to avoid rape – women should be less trusting and more thrifty with their love and acceptance of all men whether acquaintance or relative or stranger. DO NOT agree to be ALONE with any man in a closed room if you are not married to him. The Quran,I am told, says that in all such situations, Al Satan(Satan) is the third personality attendant; and in the Bible, the story of Tamar, David’s daughter and her half brother, Amnon in 1 Samuel 13, buttresses this view and is very instructive to women. BE VERY CAREFUL Cheers Dr Caleb Bibbi Oluranti
