Can Vaginal Discharge Cause Infertility?

Can Vaginal Discharge Cause Infertility?

Dear Dr,
Does or can vaginal discharge prevent pregnancy?
Janet Alumona, Mkar, Benue
Dear Janet,
It is a very interesting question which correct health education answers better than any other. We have a free report accessible form our blog at www.mediamedix.blogspot.com  where we talked expansively on vaginal discharge; we delineated at least ten different types.

To answer your question, the correct thing to do is to first determine what type of discharge a woman is having. This is because there are discharges that are NORMAL while there are those that are abnormal. To determine what type of discharge it is, you obviously need to see a doctor/gynecologist.

Normal discharges include the type that comes with ovulation. Abnormal ones include the one that follows infections with Gonorrhea or Chlamydia which are STD’s. Now if one has Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, there is the very possible complication of PID or pelvic inflammatory disease which generally blocks the fallopian tubes of women.

Now once a woman's tubes are blocked, she becomes infertile or at the least, sub-fertile. Blocked tubes are generally difficult to overcome; some doctors believing in surgery (tuboplasty or tubectomy) on the tubes while others do not.

Apart from surgery, there is some evidence that complementary care can be of some help. For further help, call the help-lines.

Cheers

Love Gone Beyond Limits?

 Love Gone Beyond Limits?
Doctor,
I have being reading your column in the Daily  Sun paper for long now, I never know I  will be writing to you today. I have a girl friend whom I love so very much we have being dating for the past 2 years she is 20 years old and in year 2 in college.. We love our selves so much that she asked me to have sex with her. I didn't want to do that at first because  she is a virgin and I was afraid not to have sex but for the problems of premature sex. But she told me that if I don't do it she will leave me and ask someone else to do it. I tried to make her understand reasons why we can't do it, this argument went on for 2 to 3 mouths, I know she love me very much. So I decided we will have sex. After that we had sex  on several occasions and  as a result; she is now pregnant. What should I do doctor. Please help me.
Harried Henry, Suleja

Dear Henry,
Do nothing. You are to be congratulated. You found a woman who loves you. A woman you also love. You decided to be adults and lo and behold you now have a baby to thank God for and bring up. If you know how many couples are looking for a baby, how to get love, how to settle down... but in your case it seems God overlooked your mistake and granted you a wonderful gift. Please there is no guarantee of love beyond this one and no guarantee of being able to get a baby. Your school work? Talk to yourselves and determine this will not stop you and you both should sail through. However, for you and others out there who don't know the rudiments, if you go to www.mediamedix.blogspot.com, you will learn more about how to control fertility-- get pregnant when you want and avoid pregnancy when you are not ready. You can also send me an e mail for "Fertility Awareness and Control"

I Am Always Nervous; Help!!!

I Am Always Nervous; Help!!!
Please Sir,
I am in a desperate need of a solution to this problem. I am a secondary school leaver. Right from my secondary school days I have been experiencing this problem. The problem is this, whenever I talk to a person, address a congregation or had an encounter with somebody, I am always nervous and after that I can not write as a result of the nervousness. Last year I visited a doctor and he told me that it is palpitation that it will stop soon but I have been waiting patiently for it to stop but to no avail. I am not comfortable with this, so I need a way out of this mess. Doctor, I hope I'm not going mad or something? Please reply via, my e-mail because as a secondary school leaver I may not be opportune to read it.
Sulaiman Afikuyomi, Ilorin

Dear Sulaiman,
Such nerves as you complain of usually have a discernible origin which a skilled doctor/psychologist/psychotherapist//psychiatrist can help you ferret out. These roots/origins are usually some conflict or the other at the base of your mind or emotions. Are there any hidden worries or anxieties or guilt or tension? These are the kinds of questions he will be looking for answers to.
Then he can tackle it. The condition is referred to as an anxiety neurosis, almost bordering on a phobia. What to do? Go seek out a professional who understands the mind -- like the ones above. Where to find them? Try General Hospitals, Specialist Hospitals; Teaching Hospitals. You can be treated. Help is available.
Madness? Oh no!!Truly, when we talk mind and psychiatry, most people think madness. Psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists are not always treating madness; okay? There are much simpler, milder and harmless problems of the mind called Neuroses that we all can suffer from -- like Depression-- and they are really skilled in helping out with such concerns. Madness is another kettle of tea and I daresay your fears must be properly laid to rest by telling you what are the tell-tale features of madness-- which you do not have but which I list here just to help anyone with fears similar to yours to sort themselves out. When a person is going mad you begin to notice other symptoms apart from the ones you mentioned --things that affect the person's character especially -- character changes-- like)Coldness vs Normal Warmth; b)Concern Gone; c)May hear voices; d)Sleeplessness; e)Mannerisms and habits have changed--won't do some things they are normally very fond of;
f)Violence; g)May see things others do not see; h)Mood changes -- may be too joyful or too depressed for normal; i)Withdrawal; j)Verbal Attacks and negative words and curses on people; k)Wanting to undress in public; l)Hallucinations; m)Jumpiness and fear; n)Aggressiveness; o)Incorrigible-ness; p)Irritability--
q)Fights Easily; r)Paranoia -- or a feeling; frequently expressed-- that normally harmless things or people want to harm the patient; s)Quarrelsomeness-- Quarrels with everyone and everything -- fights her relatives; attacks driver; uses a knife or other harmful instruments to threaten; suddenly tears others clothing; t)Denial of reality; u)Anger, or Wrath -- as in great anger)Violence; and so on.
All of that is bad news. The good news, of course, is that all these can be controlled and suppressed. At whatever level --whether just beginning or the one that has progressed a little bit. Just see the right professionals. Call the help-lines; send a text/ e mail
 Cheers

Shot in My Dream; Dogs Pursuing Me; Help!!

Shot in My Dream; Dogs Pursuing Me; Help!!

Doctor,
I commend you on how you intelligently answer questions that border on health and otherwise. I will like mine to be given speedy attention.
I have for a very long time being experiencing severe chest pains. People say it's because I smoke, but I do not smoke.
Secondly, I heard that you are a pastor. I want to tell you that I was in a dream when a member of my church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, shot us, three of us. And when he was questioned, he claimed it was accidental discharge! Then, we were taken to an hospital where the bullets would be extracted. The two of my colleague, one them my enemy in real life, were extracted of the bullets. Mine was shot on the head and when it was my turn, the police came and arrested the doctor!
I was crying in the dream when I woke up. So whatever I do, something reminds me that I am carrying  bullets on my head.
Thirdly, sometimes, I see dogs pursuing me. Sometimes I see snakes staring at me! Before, I sat my JAMB I was in a dream where I failed. Even after the exams I dreamt that I failed! No I won't fail, In JESUS NAME, Amen! Doctor, please help me out.
Kukah-Agu,  Ubiam, Ebonyi  State

Dear Kukah,
You will agree that right now, you do not have any serious problems of health but only problems from the dream. Your one problem of health which is severe chest pains could be due to your psychological state of fear or near panic because of your frightful dreams and nightmares.
Only a one on one session with you can sort you out but I want to say to you that once you are ready and willing to follow instructions, you will see the very end of your troubles-- physical, psychological and spiritual.
So, call the help-line and set up a one on one session right away. Help is very available;okay? We'll be able to assess your chronic severe chest pain; why you are having these night mares and what to do to get the better of them
Expecting your call
Cheers

Bleeding;Pain and Swollen Breasts After Abortion;Help!!

Bleeding;Pain and Swollen Breasts After Abortion;Help!!
Dear Doctor,
Sir, I will be very happy if you will be able to answer and publish my questions this next week. Please I need the answer urgently also that my mates out there can learn. I am a regular reader of your column every Thursday in Daily Sun till I had a problem which I will want you to help me with. I am a girl of 20 years old who just removed a baby; it is two weeks now and since then I have been bleeding but now it is not as heavy as the very first week and now it´s not even reddish like blood, it´s just brownish colour. In fact, I stopped putting pad and just wear my pant; when I am wet then I will go and change because, I see it as wasting of pad since the thing is not much. Two days after the removal of the baby, my breasts became swollen and sometimes it will be paining me and by that time water will be dropping from my breasts. This continued till Sunday last week when it stopped and my breast now became too soft and had come back to the normal size. My question now is, are there some foods and drugs that I need to take? If yes, please prescribe them for me. Secondly, since that time I noticed that from my navel down to my waist /abdomen; even my waist is paining me. I forgot to tell you at the beginning that I  gave birth to the 3 months and 14 days old baby, in fact, I was placed on drip. I took about seven  (7) bottles of drip. It was the eighth (8) one which was on the 4th day that the baby came out with the placenta. Please doctor, if there is some precautions I have to take now before it is too late; please tell me and advice me on other things to do.
Amanda, Awka, Anambra

Dear Amanda,
Haba!!!You do not want to be removing babies at 20 years of age; do you? Babies only come when we have sex. Sex is best inside marriage. So, the age old advice remains, abstain if you do not want a baby; okay? But if you cannot abstain then, to be sure you do not get into unwanted pregnancy trouble again, you need to learn Fertility Awareness and Control. You will learn more about this at my blog www.mediamedix.blogspot.com.  If you cannot go to the blog and you want the gist here it is -- as a lady the length of your menstrual cycle (number of days) if divided by 3 (eg 28 days divided by 3) = 9.3 days. To get pregnant, have sex in the middle one-third days; to avoid pregnancy, never have sex in the 9 days in the middle one third. That's a rough rule but I will send my free report titled, "Fertility Awareness and Control" to anyone who asks for it by e mail. Now for your other concerns-- Every new mother bleeds for some time after birth and it is normal that the stuff coming out will first be blood red and later be less copious and change colour to brown. We call the stuff lochia. In the same manner, it is normal for your breasts to drip fluid and pain you -- after all if you had not removed the baby you are supposed to be breastfeeding the baby. It is the breast milk which your breast produced in response to the baby's presence that caused your breast discomfort. The pain in your pelvis (from navel down to waist) is best evaluated by a competent doctor/gynecologist. It is possible you contacted Pelvic Inflammatory Disease ( PID) in a mild form. It would need expert treatment so that it does not  block your tubes and make you unable to get pregnant in future. 8 "drips" show that the baby you removed was unripe to come out and you really had to force it to come out. As to the age of the baby, it is usually preferred that a baby be removed at an earlier age (than the 15 weeks in your baby's case) when the process of removal is much easier.
In summary, please learn Fertility and Awareness Control (you can send me an e mail requesting for it or just go to the blog and read it) and practice it. It will save you from unwanted pregnancy
Cheers

Worm-Like Movement at Penile Tip; Help!!

Dear Sir,
Please I am writing in respect of an online mail written by Dr. Caleb Bibbi Oluranti advising a patient to contact your email, doctorbibbiz@gmail.com  in respect of cure for Staphylococcus aureus. It was from a blog on General Health issues, www.mediamedix.blogspot.com.

For some years now, I have been feeling a worm like movement at the tip of my penis from time to time. Though I had consulted a lab technician who tested my urine and confirmed my fears of Staph. He prescribed some drugs and injection for me which I took, but up till this moment, I am still feeling the worm like structure moving at the tip of my penis.  Please Sir, based on Dr. Caleb Bibbi Oluranti’s directive to that patient who suffered same symptoms, kindly send free and fuller details and information on how to avail myself of a cure and get rid of this challenge so as to advance in life.  Thank you for your prompt response.  Yours sincerely,
James Danmbatta, Jos

Dear James,
The feeling or sensation of strange movement in the location you mentioned or in any other part of the body must be investigated to rule out filarial worms that move along the subcutaneous tissues because   there are several different species of parasitic worms that become a problem when ingested, but worms that burrow into your skin are a rarer breed. These include a few types of the tiny, thread-like filarial worm, which can infect the body cavities, lymph system, eyes, or the fat layer just under your skin's surface. The latter two types cause an infectious disease called subcutaneous filariasis. These worms include the Loa loa (African eye worm), Onchocerca volvulus (causes River Blindness) and the guinea worm. They are found mostly along bodies of water in tropical areas of Africa, South America and Southeast Asia. You can catch subcutaneous filariasis if you are bitten by a mosquito or fly infected with larvae. The filarial worm completes its entire life cycle in its human host. Once the larvae are injected by an infected bug, they grow into adult worms and reproduce, creating microfilariae. These juvenile worms' location just under the skin makes them ripe for being ingested by feeding mosquitoes and the cycle begins anew. People infected with filarial worms may have them for years, and adult worms can live for more than a decade.  Onchocerciasis is the second-leading infectious cause of blindness in the world. Mansonella streptocerca is another filarial worm that gives the same symptom. . Yes, the laboratory is the proper place to go for investigation of your skin (they’ll take what is called a skin snip from you BUT the proper procedure is to see a doctor who now sends you for lab-work which will be reported back to the doctor who will now prescribe medicines for you. It is not proper for you to take prescriptions of medicines and injections from Laboratory scientists or technicians. Usually, however, this feeling or symptom you describe is not due to these worms. Most of the time, complaints about  strange movements are neurotic complaints where there is nothing pathological to be seen moving or giving the feelings of movement; rather it is an effect of the mind over the body (mind over matter). In other words, the trouble is real; yes, but it is in the mind and not in the body. It is generally secondary to worries, anxieties, fears, conflicts and apprehensions in the mind which of course the organism enables the system to appreciate by transmuting it into feelings of physical symptoms like crawling; pepperiness; ant-like movements; feeling of heat in parts of the body all of which are unreal physically but very real when traced to the roots which is the mind or the psychological. All of that is part of the bad news. The good news is that we can get rid of the movements for you by a combination of orthodox medicines and complementary remedies. You can be well. It may cost you some; but what is the use of money when one cannot advance in life or even enjoy their life or money? Call the help-lines. You will get some psychological counselling and then some physical medication as well as medicines that work on the mind to remove the effect of the worries, conflicts and anxieties. Salvation is just a call a way. Go for it!!!
