Unknown Condition

Unknown Condition
Dr Caleb,
Good day, Sir. I am Yitzhak Ali Ibn Malik. I am 35yrs, I must commend you on your efforts in helping people through their problems both medical and spiritual. May God bless you abundantly.Doc, I don’t know what's wrong with me for close to 3yrs now, I have been having pimples on my face, arms and some other parts of my body. They just appear, within a week they go and appear somewhere else again. I also have itchy scalp and other parts of my body sometimes, coupled with a burning sensation on my lips and under my feet that comes and goes. I am also losing weight. I try to eat as much as possible but don't gain much. I sometimes feel pains in my knees and elbows. I don’t know if this is depression of some sort. I am scared of testing for HIV because I really don’t know what the outcome might be. Please doctor, kindly explain to me what could be the cause of all this, and what I should do, I will also like to find out the symptoms of HIV and if they all appear at once or singly. I will be a waiting your reply soonest. Thank you Sir and God bless you
Dear Yitzhak,
Yes. Because, in your question you mention spiritual and medical by yourself I want to say we help to sort people out from an understanding and thorough training in not just the physical orthodox and medical, but also the mental, psychological and social, not to forget the spiritual, private and personal. Man is tri-partite--body, soul and spirit. You will understand that the physical is conscious; the psychological is sub-conscious and the spiritual is unconscious and accesses us through dreams and intuition/hunches. Apart from the simply physical, to a physician like us, trained properly in all these areas of life, we have to account for your psychological depression and your fear which is a spiritual thing-- these are signals that what you are experiencing may well be beyond ordinary physical treatment alone. What we can tell you is this, you will get well if you follow our guidance, instruction and prescription. Physically, we will encourage you to go do your HIV tests. No, we do not suspect HIV but know you do and understand that in any war it is better psychologically for you to know what you are fighting. HIV symptoms can appear in whatever combination and include skin rashes that won’t heal, weakness from lack of enough blood or anemia, weight loss, thrush/ sore throat/ mouth sores that refuse to heal, diarrhea, fever that is unrelenting, swollen glands, joint and muscle pains. Whatever or whichever symptoms you do or do not have, remember that ONLY THE HIV TEST CAN TELL. Psychologically, we are going to counsel you and get to the root of your depression. Spiritually, we will teach you to pray (any and every religion-friendly) to God your Creator who will have mercy on you. You will soon be so well sorted out you will wonder if your illness was not just a dream. Just call the help-lines/send us an e mail or text. You can also visit www.mediamedix.blogspot.com

Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Good Morning Dr,

I was diagnosed of torsion of the testis at UPHTH, Port Harcourt and surgery was done on me for it; but I'm still feeling the pain and the doctor said it will take a whole year for the sutures used in fixing me to all dissolve.

But 2 weeks ago, the new chief consultant said it was chronic prostatitis with epididymitis.

Please I need your help and advice.

Thanks
Persisting Pain, Port Harcourt

Dear Persisting Pain,

Your pelvic pain following surgery persists not because of the sutures or because you now have a new condition but because you have what we refer to as Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome Syndrome generally means doctors don't fully understand what is going on.

How does one tackle CPPS?

First realise the condition sometimes does not go away, no matter what you do, so get your mind set and made up to tackle it with the wisdom of knowledge. This means you keep having persistent pain in the area--pelvis--no matter what you do. It generally follows chronic prostatitis in sufferers; that is, its the end-point of chronic prostatitis in some sufferers.

What I would recommend for you will be to try all physical modalities you can; put the wisdom  of understanding in place and be ready to add spiritual modalities, such as prayer and deliverance. If you are interested in the latter or want us to handle the matter as a whole call the help-lines.
Shalom

Difference Between Depression and Calmness?

Dear Dr,
How do you tell the difference between calmness and depression?
Qudus Jankpata, Ilorin

Dear Qudus,
In depression there is disinterestedness, inability to function effectively and fatigue; all traceable to reduced energy levels. There is also a definite affectation of the mood-- sadness, despair, dejection, loss of hope; guilt. On the other hand, a person who is calm does not necessarily have reduced energy and interest; guilt and a depression of mood. Depression is like sadness. Other features may include a loss of appetite; broken sleep, early morning awakening; constipation. Depression is an illness for which you need medical attention best provided by a good doctor/psychiatrist, with effective drugs that help treat it. Apart from this light level of depression a person can also have depression with psychotic features./ I need to explain the word psychosis --it is another word for (you guessed it) outright madness!!  Causes are unknown. One very notable complication of depression is suicidal thoughts, suicidal tendencies and suicidal attempts.Suicide means that a person took his own life by himself. Since suicide can result from severe depression lets recognize depression for what it is and get it properly treated, folks. One last thing -- calmness is best seen after waking up from sleep-- it needs no treatment.Cheers

Sodomy, Sadism, Sin, Satisfaction?

Dear Dr. Bibbi,

Having read some of your features in your column I am persuaded that you are in a position to disabuse my mind on the upsetting questions raised in this mail. I will be very grateful for your instructive, intelligible and honest answers to the following questions--- that I call WORRYING QUESTIONS ON SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS/MARRIAGE -- I am 28 and planning to get married soon. Is it advisable for me marrying a man 18 – 25 years older than me?
Is fellatio and cunnilingus (oral sex) the same thing as sodomy? I know sodomy is a sin and an abomination before God and man. But what about fellatio and cunnilingus? Is it okay to engage in it? We have a clean health bill. Can a circumcised woman experience clitoral excitement and orgasm? Can a circumcised woman experience serial or multiple orgasms? Is it right, and is it a sin for one to masturbate? Will it enhance or inhibit future sexual enjoyment or excitement? Is it harmful to swallow semen during oral sex? Has it got any effect on the female person, such as weight increase? Will the fondling of my nipples and breasts by my partner increase their sizes and weight? It is safe to do vaginal douching?
Please treat as confidential.Hoping to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Virginia King, Surulere,Lagos

Dear Virginia,
Here are common-sense answers anyone will have a hard time refuting.When you say, "is it right"?, you must realize we have gone away from just science to value and moral judgments which is okay because human beings are wired to think right or wrong about almost everything. Once we agree we are moral in nature, then we need absolute right and wrong judgments on a lot of matters and this is where moral and religious instruction come in. So here goes -- answers to your queries-- marry ANYONE YOU LOVE -- that's all-- older or not;okay? Because Adam was created first, the man tends to be older; no problem.Sodomy is different and CATEGORICALLY labelled a SIN; nowhere in the Bible do we see even a HINT that oral sex is displeasing to God.Rather, there are scriptures that seem to imply it is okay. However, LOVE is most important -- if a partner has issues with oral sex, the one that does not must go without until both can see eye to eye. If anyone engages in something they think is wrong--even if and when it is not wrong-- that person has sinned; so be careful and be agreed. Sexual perversion of all types are mentioned negatively in the Bible; yet you find ABSOLUTELY NO WORD AGAINST oral sex;not a SINGLE word. Prostitution,Bestiality,Adultery, Fornication, Fantasizing, Sodomy; Incest -- God warns against each and every one severally but says nothing about oral sex at all!! Lets understand that God must know what He wants and what He doesn't want and understands human nature better than us. Circumcision steals from clitoral excitement and negatively affects orgasm.Women should never be circumcised.For a circumcised woman to have multiplied O's. Her husband has to be very very good and patient in his techniques. Because nobody can masturbate without fantasizing -- which Jesus expressly warned against --masturbation is a No-No. Masturbation has broken marriages -- when a partner finds they prefer masturbation to the real thing.This happens!! It is compulsive -- that is, difficult to stop; so should be avoided. Swallowing semen is absolutely a non-issue-- no weight gain,no pregnancy, nothing. Fondling breasts unfortunately do not have those effects --it simply arouses both the man and the woman. Douching is very wrong and harmful to women-- it seriously unbalances their vaginal environmental chemistry and allows disease-- infections and so on to overtake them. Don't do it.
Cheers

Swellings That Come &Go

Dear Dr. Bibbi,
With great love an appreciation column has been a must read for me for over two weeks now. I hope I’ll get a response form you this time around as my first attempt failed. Doctor, I have swelling like boils on one side of my testis and I don’t feel any pains. Except I do exercises-- that is when I partially feel some pains. I was even thinking, it could be excess sperm in my system or whatever that could cause it? And worst part of it, is that some month it will look as if the symptoms have gone, it will not even show up, my testis will be as normal as it was before I contacted the infection. I got infected with this symptom sometimes early in 2007. Since I was not having or feeling pains in it, I decided not to see any doctor. Until this year, I saw it increased, a little more bigger. I decided to consult a doctor at one private hospital who told me it is nothing but hernia.  That I should come for test, so that he will know whether to operate it or not. So doctor, I don’t want to go for the test since, I don’t have the amount they required from me. And I believed strongly that this thing can go off without operation because I was not born with. It is just a symptom which by the power of God can be mollified? I want you to tell me what to do for this symptom to die permanently without operation. But by means of natural medicine or whatever, more over what are the effects it can cause to my system or organ. Please, I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Use this e-mail to sent a  reply to me. I will be checking the mail box for my reply. Please doctor -- just give me appropriate remedies without referring me to any medical clinic or hospital. Thanks , Victor.

Dear VGH,
I do hope I am wrong, but I do feel that you are not serious enough about your ailment and ultimately --your life!! God forbid that I should deceive you-- or alarm you for fun--it could be a hernia --and if indeed it is --from the increasing pain you are now feeling and the increasing size of the swelling, you could end up dead one of these days within just 24 hours of exacerbation of your symptoms! Hernias kill that way. Listen -- a hernia(not ainia) is not an infection but a condition that some people just develop--though some are born with it-- that is very dangerous in that it may be painless till the day it strikes with real pain and kills within hours or days. THERE ARE NO NATURAL REMEDIES FOR HERNIAS THAT MAKE IT JUST GO AWAY WITHOUT COMING BACK. It may seem to have gone but too many times it returns-with a vengeance-- ready to kill. THE ONLY EFFECTIVE REMEDY FOR HERNIA IS OPERATION.  Herniorrhaphy we call it; herniotomy for babies born with hernia. What you really need to do is get a second opinion. Please go to the General Hospital. You won't need to pay so much that way. See another doctor and see how easy or difficult it is for him to come to his conclusion about you. Does he also think it is a hernia? You could even get a cheap third opinion this way. If all 3 doctors  feel you have a hernia, then GET IT OPERATED VERY FAST, PLEASE. IT IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN AND CLAIM YOUR LIFE. If indeed it is a hernia, do the operation in the GH --it is very much cheaper that way. If it's not a hernia, then send feedback as to what it is so we can help you.
Cheers

Tumor Scare

Tumor Scare
Dear Doc,

I'm a 32yr old man. I like the way you solve people’s problems hence mine would not be different. This problem started way back 3yrs ago. I had this swelling at the base of my scrotum, which I came to know as testicular tumor because I went to see my doctor. Initially he placed me on the antibiotic called Augmetin, it cleared it but it reappeared again. Still I used same medication. Yet it still reappeared .Just last year the swelling was so malignant that I had it operated upon but yet it still reappeared. Please doctor what do you think I ought to do because I am very worried at I do not know what to do myself & what effect will it be on me as per making babies because  I am still single. Your response will be very much be appreciated.
Jimi Jonah, Kokori, Delta
Dear Jimi,
The word tumor can be used for any swelling but more accurately for those suspected or confirmed to be cancerous. The word malignant means "definitely cancerous and therefore killing" when applied to a swelling; okay? If your swelling responds positively to antibiotics, then it cannot be called a tumor-- are you sure your doctor called it that? --nor is it malignant or cancerous at all. Again if it responds to antibiotics, we really have no big problem at all but as it is now, we just need to be really sure. See a very good doctor or better still a surgeon or urologist who will order tests to define what it really is.

What Can You Do for my Infertility, Doc?

What Can You Do for my Infertility, Doc?
Hi Doc,
l am 43yrs married for 3yrs now. My wife has not been able to conceive. We went for test; I was diagnosed of low sperm count. I now went to a fertility doctor where I received HCG stimulation for 3months with minimal effect on the semen. In fact the sperm count after the treatment was 3000000/ml with only 5% actively motive and 2.6ml volume.
He referred me to a Urologist, who subjected me to sex hormonal test. The outcome of the test is as follows:             ref value
        LH=7.5in/ml     (0-25)in/ml
        FSH=7.5in/ml   (5-20)in/ml
        Prolactin=7.5ng/ml    (1-20)ng/ml
        Testosterone=2.0ng/ml  (3.0-10)ngml.
   Ultrasonic findings conducted on the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, bladder, prostrate shows no mass, cyst, stone or abscess.
My right testis measures 33.3by 13.6mm in size with a volume of 7.9cc while left side is 31.4by14.2mm with the volume of 7.3cc.No varicocoeless or hydrocoeless seen ,no mass detected". After the above test, the Urologist treated me with some drugs(progonal). After the treatment the sperm count dropped drastically. In fact the test last 2wks shows no growth aerobically,but the cell count of 100000cell/ml with 0%active cells and 100% dead cells was recorded. As a pastor and a doctor please what shall I do? I need your urgent assistance.
Thanks and God bless you.
Sad Stephen, Sokoto

Dear Sad Stephen,
It would appear you have been effectively blocked from fertility from all angles -- what with your 100% dead cells and 1 million; 3 million sperm count when we should be talking at least 20 to 40 million!! But don't lose hope!! This is where a combination of physical, mental and spiritual does wonders. I remember -- as I have always said -- the man who thought I was the one who impregnated his wife!! Why? He was azoospermic -- yet his wife got pregnant so fast under our care he really had to be suspicious!! There are things you must understand -- but just remember --with God, nothing is impossible. Call the helplines. Let's get to work and by God's grace, this time next year, you will be carrying your baby.
Cheers
