Food Eaten In Dreams

Food Eaten In Dreams Dear Dr, I have been afflicted of food ate in the dream years back—I always experience some movement in the stomach and a kind of discomfort at the left side. Doctor, please tell me what to do Bello Biyi, Babalosa, Mushin Lagos Dear Bello, Medically you have discomfort in the left side of your abdomen; movement in the stomach both of which you associate with a ream in which you ate food a number of years before now. You are uncomfortable and unwell enough to seek medical help. We must first assume that all your problems are physical and so we need to see you for interview, physical examination and appropriate tests. Let us assume you have gone through all this and found nothing the matter physically. We would be thinking of Peptic Ulcer, Gall Bladder disease, Worm infestation, Chronic Pancreatitis and would like to have made sure each one of these have been totally ruled out of your case and that you are free of them. Moving objects in the body are almost always psychological—never physical or organic; meaning that after extensive investigations, we generally find nothing the matter with any of your organs, nothing moving in your system; just a feeling that things are moving. This feeling is generally due to a conflict or challenge you are facing in your life; some stress or the other that your mind is unable to resolve – even though it may be and usually is all subconscious and you may not be fully aware of it. It is this unresolved conflict that manifests as feelings of moving things in your body – some say its worms, some say its peppery, some say its ants, some feel vibrations etc, etc. What really is happening according to medical science is that your mind, trying to get your attention, now presents this challenge conflict or stress in the language that you can understand – that of bodily symptoms—so as to get your attention to fully resolve the conflicts. The turning of the problem into physical feeling we refer to as Somatisation; so another name for your affliction is Somatisation Syndrome. The correct – and often very helpful treatment for this kind of problem is psychological counseling and some medicines that work on the mind and a careful doctor should be able to help you with such remedies and get you well again. Eating in the dream in our Nigerian culture is not a good portent; it is seen as a spiritual attack. For things spiritual, use a combination of prayers, fasting, scriptures, deliverance, counseling, and so on. Physicians who are comfortable with spiritual matters, but who have a solid base of medical training with a good appreciation of the psychological – those are the professionals you need. In this connection, there is a book we authored years ago called Destroying the Strongholds of Witchcraft and Human Agents of Satan. It is a useful resource for you and can be obtained through us. Cheers Dr. Caleb Bibbi Oluranti

False Pregnancy, Blocked Tubes --can I Conceive?

Dear Dr, I have a blocked tube, I have been trying to conceive for the past 2yrs and 6months all to no avail, have read about this false pregnancy I was also a victim, I stopped seeing the woman because she said I came pregnant but I still see my normal period the pregnancy is not growing in any way and she keeps telling me that am my baby is fine. I also take Dexamethasone just to blow me up. Doc, please tell me if this also affects my inability to conceive. Thank you, Ama, Abuja. Dear Ama, You cannot be taking Dexamethasone and expect things to be okay with you as it is a steroidal drug and these drugs are very delicate-- only to be prescribed by doctors- they are not just over -the-counter remedies that anybody can buy and use as they fancy; okay? I do not know that dexamethasone affects a woman’s ability to conceive but wouldn’t be surprised if it does; SO PLEASE STOP IT NOW. Now false pregnancy (pseudocyesis) is another matter. Commonly found with ladies who are too anxious to get pregnant as well as those who are too anxious NOT to get pregnant, the definition is when a woman believes she is pregnant when there is no objective evidence – either the scan or urine tests or blood test--- all are negative; yet the lady still believes she is pregnant, principally because she has a protuberant abdomen, and maybe because she has certain feelings she has associated with pregnancies before that. Certainly this has left the level of the physical and is squarely a matter of the mind, beliefs and perception. This is why I believe anyone can see that a purely physical approach to the management of pseudocyesis is inadequate. The psycho spiritual must be taken into consideration, of course along with the physical so that we have a more thorough and holistic appraisal of the challenge. Now, most medical doctors have no training in or appreciation of matters none physical. Even the psychological which should not be too far from the doctor’s diagnostic tool-kit leaves too many doctors out of their depth; not to talk of the spiritual. But let it be on record that there are cases of this nature who have been dismissed as cranks who have successfully gone on (albeit with serious spiritual intervention such as prayer and deliverance) to have the same babies that had disappeared from the radar screen of science. You will need to see us one on one; the truth is we can help you or anyone suffering like you. Go ahead and contact us and as you follow instructions, you will be pleasantly surprised. Cheers

Foul Smelling Vaginal Discharge

Foul Smelling Vaginal Discharge

Dear Dr,
Please I’m a woman of 28 years. Whenever I have sex with my husband, the vaginal fluid coming out from my vagina is always very foul smelling and the smell lingers on for the whole day. Please is it a sign of infection and what type of infection...I just want to know what I am going to treat?
28, Married and Messed-Up, Makurdi

Dear Married and Messsed-Up,
What you are going to treat? My professional guess is a disease called Bacterial vaginosis or Gardnerellosis. You will soon know why. You see, there are many causes of Vaginal Discharge. I’ve listed them in my write-up on this page before now and you can update yourself at www.mediamedix.blogspot.com and www.drbibbi.com. What should be done about each specific type of Vaginal Discharge has also been discussed and will be found in the same place. A quick re-hash and summary here will do as we consider some 12 causes of vaginal discharge. First you must understand that all women have NORMAL vaginal discharge which is white or milky white like akamu or milk and doesn’t smell and doesn’t itch. When women are ovulating, there’s INCREASED but NORMAL discharge; this also happens during pregnancy –we call this leucorrhea. Need we say that before sex AND after sex vaginal discharge also necessarily increases? These five basically give a picture of normal vaginal discharge – no smell, no itching, not too plenty and totally normal in looks. When discharge from the vagina is abnormal as in too plenty, smells, itches, or is abnormal in any other way, these are caused by disease and I’ll discuss five infections and two others to make 12. Gonorrhea will cause a discharge that is yellow or maybe white and thick like pus; also painful urination and burning or itching of the genitals. Candidiasis causes an over-plenty white and horribly itchy discharge. Trichiomoniasis has a thin frothy discharge; non white maybe gray, greenish or yellow, plentiful and a strong bad smell and a bad itch. Bacterial Vaginosis will cause a very mild itch if any, and plenty smelly (maybe fish-like odour) thin gray discharge that is notorious for appearing especially after intercourse. Chlamydia’s discharge –when there is one -- because 75% of women have no symptoms at all -- is generally not thick but thin, cloudy-white but definitely abnormal and just may smell. There is some itchiness or burning especially with urination. Those are five infections--gonorrhea; candidiasis; trichomoniasis;bacterial vaginosis and chlamydia. Finally, the two conditions -- a foreign body in the vagina – like a forgotten menstrual tampon-- will cause a foul discharge. And after the birth of a baby every mother has a discharge called lochia for at least 6 weeks.
My dear, the only way to find out which of these is afflicting you is to go see a doctor who will carefully listen to you , interview you properly and then order appropriate tests, especially the one called called “High Vaginal Swab” or HVS with microscopy, culture and sensitivity” (m,c,s) which will help to tell what exactly it is and how to treat it. It is because of the association of the discharge to sex that I began with the provisional diagnosis of Bacterial Vaginosis. Cheers
