Raped and Dying!!!
Good day Doc,
I am a young girl of 16yrs[next month].l do read Sun newspaper but not on daily basis ,but the few l manage to read, l always read about health and l must confess, you are doing a great and wonderful job and may the good Lord continue to bless u in Jesus name Amen...l have this problem that makes me not to think of better future for myself. l know everybody always thinks ahead but for me, it seems my whole life is not worth living.lt all started when l was 13yrs,l was raped by my sister's boyfriend[and his friend]. l tried everything l could so that nobody will know what happened cos at my age,l'm expected to be a virgin even now.but after much,my mum got to know about everything but instead of her to take me to the hospital for proper treatment and check-up,[ie after l have recovered]she thinks of nothing like that.it was after some few months that l started to notice some changes in my body like;l urinates all the time,l respires a lot even after coming out from the bathroom,l always have this yellowish/brownish foul discharge from my private part that forces me to bath all the time like say 6 times in a day.every morning l used to have severe waist pains.l grow weak all the time; l can't stand for more than good 10mins and the worst is that l grow thin every day though am slim and even at night, l service the toilet.l told my mum about it but she said that there is nothing wrong with me but l knew l have problem;so l have to save some money for a test.l went for blood and urine test. l was Hiv negative thank God, but tested Staph positive.
To be frank,l was short of words.l found it so hard to believe that such disease do exist in nigeria not to talk of a young girl like me having it. l couldn't help but started crying. No day passes by without me crying my eyes out and right now, l'm tired of crying cos l no longer have the strength to do that. Last year, l visited one hospital and paid 1500naira for some injections but it was to no avail. Every day as l said earlier, l grew weaker and thinner. l see myself as somebody that has Hiv cos l read in one book that staph kills after some yrs. l no longer take anything in me serious esp my diet. Sometimes,l don't eat at all. l later tried some herbal medicine that costs me almost 10,000naira but no way[all this expenses from my personal savings]. l never buy the idea of telling my mum cos she never cared in the first place. l won't say that am worried or bothered, but my future is no longer bright with this disease in me. But yesterday,l was going through sun newspaper and doctor Bibbi promised sending a free report on how to get rid of staph to one guy if he will send an e-mail to you.Pls doc,l want the sincere truth, and that is to know if mine can be cured and if yes, will l be able to have my own babies cos this deadly and silence disease has stayed in my system for good 3yrs.Doc,l must tell u that u are my only hope. Pls pls pls send me also the free report on how to get rid of mine.l will never forget it if u help me.Am looking forward to ur reply.l have to leave cos l'm weak here before l will faint.
Raped and Dying, Onitsha
Dear Raped and Dying,
I feel for you and the fact that you seem to have no one to sucour you--not even your mother. A warning to all ladies whose mothers are uncaring, unfeeling, insensitive and downright abusive -- you have a statistically significant rate of rape and accident proneness -- so beware. The same goes for men who have overbearing, aggressive mothers-- they marry later and their marriages are less successful. If you want more help on this-- especially to find out deep reasons why this is so and what to do, send me an e mail. As for your staphylococcus challenge,my free report detailing steps to get rid of Staph will be sent to anyone who is interested if they request it from staphdoctor@yahoo.com or sign up for it at our web-site www.mediamedix.blogspot.com.You will be surprised how detailed an explanation is given and how easy it is to access cure. But be assured you will not only get well but be able to have your babies in future, okay?

Boils on the Genitals
Boils on the Genitals
Dear Doctor,
I've been reading your responses to people's questions to regarding their health situation; I must say that I'm glad so far. Please doctor, for sometime now, I've been having some boils around my private parts --the groin to be specific. It appears like pimples. It’s actually like pimple, because any time it's ripe, it does brings out some whitish substance like that of pimple. Please help me out. Expecting your reply through this medium if possible.
Thanks. Yours
Shegelu Shadomi
Dear Shege,
Your question is very relevant because you find a lot of folks with the same concern--boils, pimples, bumps or some hard nodules or papules near, at or on their genitals. What could it be?
The best approach is to ask yourself the question--what is the origin? Did it just begin or has it been coming and going for a long time? If it began a long while ago, how did it start--just after sex with a particular person--or what?
Because --here is the first major distinction that will give you peace of mind--if it is a question of no sexual contact at all then it is very likely to be nothing to write home about . General, non sex related causes of boils are bad hygiene and diabetes as well as kidney infection and generally lowered immunity.
Then talking non sexually again you must understand that the genitals, like the armpits, the face the buttocks and some other parts of the body where skin lies on skin and there is likely to be friction contain a lot of oily glands; sweat glands and so on and are prone to have these boils--yes they are just ordinary boils--naturally.
It is nothing to worry about. The hair follicle could get infected because the hair has grown inside on its itself --called ingrown hair follicle. It could also be a cyst --these ones tend to extrude some whitish or liquid stuff when pressed. They are inconsequential. Incidentally these boils are all likely to be caused by the ubiquitous germ --ever p[resent on the skin well known and referred to as Staphylococcus aureus--harmless really unless it gets deep into tissues like the prostate, brain, inner lining of the heart or lungs or causes food poisoning.
Having said this I must warn that you always need to see a doctor to actually look see any skin problem because to assume could be deadly. Particularly if there is a recent history of sexual exposure you will need to rule out things like syphilitic chancre, genital warts, herpes and molluscum contagiosum; and Behcet's Syndrome and so on and so forth. These sexually transmitted or sexually associated conditions need to be thoroughly assessed by doctors trained to do so.
If you stay in a capital or city or University town, your best bet is to go and see a dermatologist at the University teaching hospital or Federal Medical Centre or even the General Hospital. There you will find dermatological evaluation which, really is the best for you
Cheers

Antihypertensive Wonder Medication
Antihypertensive Wonder Medication
Dear Dr,
Can you please help me verify-- is it true that there are medicines available now that can help treat hypertension without the side-effect of loss of sexual acuity? I am even told that the same drugs can increase libido. Is this true? And what drugs are these?
K.T.Faluu; Port Harcourt
Dear K.T,
One of the most challenging problems in the care of patients with high blood pressure is patient noncompliance with antihypertensive therapy -- that is, for various reasons, patients do not take their drugs the way they should. One reason is that men on older high blood pressure medications (diuretics, beta-blockers) complain of severe erectile dysfunction. But as if to counter this common complaint, there is now, in truth, a new class of drugs to treat hypertension, that actually boost libido and research has shown for these drugs the highest rate of persistence in the use of the medicines.
These drugs are found to be very well tolerated and are not associated with the side-effects known to cause compliance problems with beta blockers, ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers such as impotence, dry cough and peripheral edema. The drugs reverse sexual dysfunction - significantly improving the sex lives of men who suffer from sexual dysfunction-- but not only men they actually improve sexual function in men and women with hypertension.
Men and women being treated with these drugs for mild-to-moderate hypertension appear to show improvements in sexual function and desire and impotent patients on them find increased interest in sex.Hypertensive patients with erectile dysfunction who are taking the drugs find they have increased sexual desire –and what's more these wonder antihypertensives that enhance libido also-- that is -- have the added advantages of reducing the chances of diabetes developing -- they had a 23% lower risk of developing diabetes during four or more years of the study of the drugs.
Also, these drugs work quite as well as any of the best in reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.Your interest in the medications is justified-- however they are not OTC's -- over the counter medications-- so we have to see face to face so we can properly help you with them.
We have sent you details and will oblige anyone (just call the help lines) of how you can do this and regain -- maybe even increase -- your sexual power while effectively controlling your hypertension -- no matter what your age is!!!
Valsartan – or DIOVAN – that’s the name of the medicine. Others in the same class of medicines (ARBs) include the following drugs:
candesartan
eprosartan
irbesartan
losartan
olmesartan
telmisartan
valsartan
Note that each of the ARBs named above ends with "sartan.
Valsartan (Diovan) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (more commonly called an "ARB", or angiotensin receptor blocker), with particularly high affinity for the type I (AT1) angiotensin receptor.
By blocking the action of angiotensin, valsartan dilates blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.[1] In the U.S., valsartan is indicated for treatment of high blood pressure, congestive heart failure (CHF), or post-myocardial infarction (MI).In 2005, Diovan was prescribed more than 12 million times in the United States and global sales were approximately $6.0 billion.
In the US, valsartan is marketed by Novartis under the trade name Diovan. In Pakistan, it is marketed by Efroze under the trade name Angiotan. In India, it is marketed by Cipla under the trade name Valtan and by Torrent Pharmaceuticals under the trade name Valzaar. In Egypt it is marketed by Novartis under the name of Tareg.
I have looked around to gather this information for you to introduce you to the medicine. Please do not hesitate to ask for further help in any area you need explanation

Married With No Kids!
Married; No Kids!
I am a regular reader of your piece YOU AND YOUR HEALTH I am forty years old; I have been on fertility drugs since four years ago --proviron and rovigon-- a case secondary infertility -- to no avail. I want to know if masturbation is the cause because I used to do it after and before my marriage. 3 weeks back I have stopped it. Please, tell me the drugs to take and how they’ll affect me. Also any time I ejaculate into my wife, sperm always pours out. Please reply personally and publish it .THANKS.
Answer:
Infertility has nothing to do with masturbation -- believe me. Medically there is absolutely no correlation; okay? But why any married person would also be masturbating-- well I don't understand. Imagine a married woman masturbating!! Imagine a married man leaving his willing and waiting wife, entering into some hole or corner of the house like Saddam--and firing off all alone. What loneliness!! If you want help to stop this habit that binds and habituates so cruelly-- send to us for a free file that will help you. In your case, the pouring out of semen is significant. Very obviously, it looks like something is trying to make sure no sperm gets into your wife's womb to fertilize her eggs -- what with your wasting the stuff at masturbation and its pouring out during or after sex!!! I am almost sure that if we check your semen right now, you also have low sperm count or none at all -- oligospermia or azoospermia-- all so there'll just be no baby! What am I saying? Infertility usually has negative supernatural or spiritual foundations that need prayerful intervention by God!!! That notwithstanding, you can tackle it best by getting physical, mental (emotional) and spiritual help to work in tandem or all together-- not by neglecting one area and exclusively focusing on just one. Your best bet? Together with your wife, see a good doctor or gynecologist who also understands these matters
Cheers

What Is Herpes?
WHAT'S HERPES?
Dear Dr. Bibbi,
I am an ardent reader of your health column (You and your Health) in The Daily Sun. I have learnt a lot and shared with people their experiences and problems, but I have some pressing questions to ask and I know you are the right person to talk to.
1. WHAT IS HERPES SIMPLEX
2. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OR SIGNS?
3. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE CURES AND DRUGS TO USE?thn
4. WHAT KIND OF TESTS IS REQUIRED
YNA, Port Harcourt.
Dear YNA,
1.Herpes Simplex is an STD. There are 4 major features. 2.a)Blisters will form on the genitals. They will go of their own accord-- whether you treat or not. b)They will recur -- in fact, keep recurring for life. c)They will burn, pepper, or itch the sufferer. d)Vaginal herpes can blinden a baby born the normal way; so a mother with herpes will need to be encouraged to do Caesarean Section. 3.There is no known cure-- only palliative treatment. 4.Tests to diagnose the disease are not practical--as in costs and availability; so doctor usually diagnoses from the clinical features alone. Herpes is a very common STD that sufferers just keep quiet about. Also, I imagine a lot of quacks will easily call it Staphylococcus. Though there are no cures, there are certain medications that if taken, will make the recurrences happen less frequently.Herpes is a virus. There are two types Herpes Hominis Type 1 and Herpes Hominis Type 2. Type 2 causes the STD. Type 1 causes the mild fever or cold blister around the mouth that we all know about and is harmless.
Cheers

The DASH Diet
Dear Dr,
What is the DASH Diet and why is it so important?
Jimi Sho, Abeokuta
Dear Jimi,
Let me allow Dr.Gabe Mirkin -he has been here before-- to answer this question. Here goes--
DASH (High-Plant) Diet for Heart Health, Weight Loss and Diabetes Prevention/Control
Gabe Mirkin, M.D.
Reports from Harvard School of Public Health shows that a diet rich in plants lowers high blood pressure (1,2). It's called the DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.) Other studies show that similar eating patterns lower cholesterol, help to control diabetes and cause weight loss in people who are overweight.
It took only two weeks for the diet to have an effect and after eight weeks, 70 percent of those eating the DASH diet had normal blood pressures, compared to 45 percent on the fruits-and-vegetables diet and 23 percent on the control diet. The authors feel that increasing minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium lowers high blood pressure perhaps by suppressing calcium regulating hormones that close blood vessels. The diet appears to act the same way as the diuretics that are the most common drugs prescribed to control blood pressure: it gets rid of excess sodium (1a).
Most people will not have their high blood pressure lowered just by restricting salt. These studies show that a diet to lower high blood pressure should be rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, contain beans, seeds, nuts and low-fat dairy products, and limit everything else. Here's a day on the DASH diet:
8 servings of grains
5 servings of vegetables
5 servings of fruit
2-3 servings of skim or low-fat milk, yogurt or cheese
5 servings per week of nuts, seeds or beans
1-2 servings of meat, poultry or fish
restrict sweets and fats
You should immediately notice that this is basically the diet that I have recommended for more than 30 years. Here's my modified DASH diet for total heart health: to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, control weight, and prevent or control diabetes.
About 8 servings of WHOLE grains (not flour)
At least 5 vegetables
At least 5 fruits
Up to 3 fat free dairy products (optional)
Up to 2 servings of seafood (I recommend that you avoid meat from mammals)
Beans or legumes (no limit)
1-2 tablespoons nuts or snack seeds
Up to 3 teaspoons olive oil (optional)
Minimal added sugars (none if diabetic or trying to lose weight)
MOST IMPORTANT-Exercise!
Note: Serving sizes are typically 1/2 cup of cooked foods, 1 cup of raw fruits or vegetables.
To see if you are among the eighty percent of people who can control blood pressure with this diet, try my SHOW ME! diet for just two weeks. You (and your doctor) will be amazed.
