When Ultrasound Cannot Detect the Baby
Ultrasound Scan Cannot Detect Our Baby, Help!!
Dear Doc,
I feel at home
with the way you treat peoples' questions, and decided to write you a
personal one. I am a young man of 32 years and married for two years now but no
issue to show for it. Our problem now is that of confusion.
When my wife and I decided to really start a search for a child, we went for various tests which showed that my wife was alright but with slight fibroid, which the doctors
said would not hinder her from conceiving. I was found to have a low
sperm count problem and was placed on treatment. This greatly
improved to up to 74 million, and I was given a clean bill of health as
able to impregnate my wife. My wife took in twice and it all went out after the first month
We continued until we decided to try herbs to fight the fibroid. The herb woman
told my wife the very first time, that she was one month pregnant.
We rejoiced and started thinking of our baby. However lately, she
went to hospital for scan after three months, and was told that there was
no child in her womb. Meanwhile, her tummy is protruding, breast
enlarging, she feels very heavy, experiences sleepiness and drowsiness in
the early mornings, and once or twice has almost thrown up in the morning.
The problem is that with all these signs, is it possible that she is not pregnant?
And if not, what could be growing in her tummy, since it is not fibroid.
Please, advice us before we do something stupid. Please, do reply through
this mail address while sharing same in the papers for those facing the
same kind of confusion.
Thanks again for your interest.
Yours truly,
Dylan Thomas; Enugu
Dear Dylan,
There is bad
news and then good news for you. The classical diagnosis any Western-trained
doctor will give you is what is called Pseudocyesis or False Pregnancy.
Ultrasound scan was done for your wife. There is no evidence of a pregnancy or
a baby in her womb. The pregnancy is false. Your wife has some funny thing
wrong with her. Perhaps she should see a psychologist or a psychiatrist or at
least a counselor. Full Stop; no hope; no way. What is the good news?
About seven years ago, a lady with her husband walked into my
consultation room to see me. The lady was in tears. She showed me two reports
of scan tests she did from the same scan centre about three months apart. The first
showed that there was a baby. The second report showed, like your wife that
there was no baby. Husband and wife were devastated. What happened? Where was
their baby? She was still looking pregnant? To cut
a long story short, I told them what to do; they did it and after two weeks,
they went back for a scan and the scan reported on the same woman that there
was a baby in her womb now. Needless to say, they delivered the baby who is a
boy and alive and well; a spitting image of the dad. There are
mysterious cases which we as mere doctors cannot handle without a consideration
of not just the physical, but the physical, together with the mental and not
forgetting the spiritual. When we see face to face we will handle the challenge
and any one with a similar story. Call the help lines

Hope I'm Not Going Mad?
I Hope I’m Not Going Mad?
Please Sir,
I am in a desperate need of a solution to this problem. I am a secondary school leaver. Right from my secondary school days I have been experiencing this problem. The problem is this, whenever I talk to a person, address a congregation or had an encounter with somebody, I am always nervous and after that I cannot write as a result of the nervousness. Last year I visited a doctor and he told me that it is palpitation that it will stop soon but I have been waiting patiently for it to stop but to no avail. I am not comfortable with this, so I need a way out of this mess. Doctor, I hope I'm not going mad or something? Please reply via, my e-mail because as a secondary school leaver I may not be opportune to read it.
Sulaiman Afikuyomi, Ilorin
Dear Sulaiman,
Such nerves as you complain of usually have a discernible origin which a skilled doctor/psychologist/psychotherapist//psychiatrist can help you ferret out. These roots/origins are usually some conflict or the other at the base of your mind or emotions. Are there any hidden worries or anxieties or guilt or tension? These are the kinds of questions he will be looking for answers to.
Then he can tackle it. The condition is referred to as an anxiety neurosis, almost bordering on a phobia. What to do? Go seek out a professional who understands the mind -- like the ones above. Where to find them? Try General Hospitals, Specialist Hospitals; Teaching Hospitals. You can be treated. Help is available.
Madness? Oh no!!Truly, when we talk mind and psychiatry, most people think madness. Psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists are not always treating madness; okay? There are much simpler, milder and harmless problems of the mind called Neuroses that we all can suffer from -- like Depression-- and they are really skilled in helping out with such concerns. Madness is another kettle of tea and I daresay your fears must be properly laid to rest by telling you what are the tell-tale features of madness-- which you do not have but which I list here just to help anyone with fears similar to yours to sort themselves out. When a person is going mad you begin to notice other symptoms apart from the ones you mentioned --things that affect the person's character especially -- character changes-- like)Coldness vs Normal Warmth; b)Concern Gone; c)May hear voices; d)Sleeplessness; e)Mannerisms and habits have changed--won't do some things they are normally very fond of;f)Violence; g)May see or hear things others do not see; h)Mood changes -- may be too joyful or too depressed for normal; i)Withdrawal; j)Verbal Attacks and negative words and curses on people; k)Wanting to undress in public; l)Hallucinations; m)Jumpiness and fear; n)Aggressiveness; o)Incorrigible-ness; p)Irritability--q)Fights Easily; r)Paranoia -- or a feeling; frequently expressed-- that normally harmless things or people want to harm the patient; s)Quarrelsomeness-- Quarrels with everyone and everything -- fights her relatives; attacks driver; uses a knife or other harmful instruments to threaten; suddenly tears others clothing; t)Denial of reality; u)Anger, or Wrath -- as in great anger; v)Violence; and so on.
All of that is bad news. The good news, of course, is that all these can be controlled and suppressed. At whatever level --whether just beginning or the one that has progressed a little bit. Just see the right professionals. Call the help-lines; send a text/ e mail

What’s The Matter With My Belly?
What’s The Matter With My Belly?
Dear Doctor,
I read a Daily Sun newspaper and saw so many problems put up to you which you gave a solution of how to solve; that was why I intended to present my case to you .This has been bothering me for long, and has been a very big problem to me which nobody will not able to observe, looking at me I'm healthy but inside I know the kind of problem I have. I’ve been to so many hospitals and have taken a lot of antibiotics, the lab always prescribe that I have typhoid and malaria parasite, and also stomach problem which the doctor said that I had excess gas syndrome. It has been 2 years and some months since this sickness started; I have never been myself again, and never believe that typhoid will ever last this way. Please tell me what to do cause you are the last doctor I'm writing to. I stopped taking any drugs because I tried and I found out that it weakens my body whenever I took any antibiotic.
Keriani Gaskiya; Taraba
Dear Keriani,
If your stomach is acting up with excess gas-- and the doctor called it a syndrome then maybe we are dealing with something that is difficult to delineate. A syndrome is always so called because of this --it is difficult to characterize or understand; but it is a recognized group of symptoms or challenges to health or well-being. Typhoid certainly can be the culprit. Also, chronic indigestion can do the same thing --just as the poorly understood Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS means your bowel doesn’t work the right way; it can cause cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation, but doesn’t damage the bowel or lead to other health problems. The doctor, who will diagnose IBS based on your symptoms, may need to have medical tests done to rule out other health problems. Stress doesn’t cause IBS, but it can make your symptoms worse. Fatty foods, milk products, chocolate, alcohol, and caffeinated and carbonated drinks can trigger symptoms.
Eating foods with fiber like vegetables and fruits like pawpaw, pine apple, apple, cabbage, carrots, bananas, and eating small meals (up to 5 or 6) throughout the day may reduce symptoms. Drinking lots of water helps too. There is no medical cure for IBS but treatment for IBS may include medicine, stress relief, and changes in eating habits. You'll certainly need to see a good doctor face to face and have him investigate the IBS. Just seeing malaria parasite in the blood of anyone living in Nigeria's holoendemic area is nothing to write home about—it’s of no consequence especially if there are no accompanying symptoms of malaria

Married So Long Without Children;Staphylococcus Issues;Needing Immediate Help!
Married So
Long Without Children; Staphylococcus Issues; Needing Immediate Help!
Good morning
Doctor,
I have been
having the suspicion of my genital area not being okay. After undergoing tests
after three years of marriage without children I found out I had Staphylococcus
infection. I treated it for over a year, returned for test and the result read
that there was insignificant traces of germs, which might mean it has been
flushed off. Now I continue to experience low sperm count of about 5 million
instead of the normal 20 million. Also I have this continuous weak erection and
quick ejaculation.
Please I
need your urgent help for a final and permanent cure to this frustrating and
embarrassing menace. I also think this might have affected my prostrate organ
as I deduced from your blog, mediamedixdoctor .
Thank you.
Your
faithful,
Femi
Elegbata, Kabba, Kogi
Immediate
Help Please
Dear Sir,
Please I
need your help right away. I did a urine culture test last week and the result
came that I have yielded Scanty Growth of Staphylococcus aureus after 24 hours
of incubation at 37 degrees Centigrade. I don't know what to do, please help me
Yours
sincerely
Jibrilla
Suleiman. Adamawa
Dear Femi
and Jubrilla,
Scanty
growth of germs can still cause disease and MUST BE TREATED if you are to
regain your full health. Unfortunately, this lack of full treatment fuels more
infertility through low sperm count as in the case of Femi and his inability to
get his wife pregnant even after three full years of marriage. No, with scanty
growth remaining, it has not been flushed off in the language of Femi. Yes it
is Chronic Prostate infection (prostatitis) that is at the root of all your
complaints of inadequacy on the bed, weak erection, and low hunger for sex,
premature or too quick ejaculation, only one round and madam complaining about
your act. Thank God that a final permanent cure is available for Staphyloccus
issues; just call the help-lines and check our blog at www.mediamedix.blogspot.com.

Is Ladies Drug Rape by Burundanga Real?
Burundanga—Ladies Beware!!!
Dear Dr,
Can you please enlighten the public about a drug reported to
be useful for men of ill will to use on
unsuspecting victims whereby they cancel the victim’s will power and then
attack the poor victim at will? Is it true that there is such a drug?
Jenrayo Ikpeme, Oyo
Dear Jenrayo,
Very unfortunately, the truth is that there is such a drug.
It’s name is burndanga and it’s scientific name is scopolamine or hyoscine.
Wikipedia says “Hyoscine, also known as scopolamine, is a medication used to
treat motion sickness and postoperative nausea and vomiting. It is also
sometimes used before surgery to decrease saliva. When used by injection,
effects begin after about 20 minutes and last for up to 8 hours. It may also be
used by mouth and as a dermal patch.
Common side effects include sleepiness, blurred vision, dilated
pupils, and dry mouth. It is not recommended in people with glaucoma or bowel
obstruction.] It is unclear if use during pregnancy is safe; however, it
appears to be safe during breastfeeding.
Hyoscine was first written about in 1881 and came into
medical use in 1947. It is on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines, the
most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system. Hyoscine is
produced from plants of the nightshade family. The name "scopolamine"
is derived from one type of nightshade known as Scopolia while
"hyoscine" is from another type known as Hyoscyamus niger.
Now, this drug has been useful to perpetrate acts of rape,
robbery and assault on victims who include females alone or in night clubs,
elderly people and other targets of violence and robbery especially in Latin
America; and definitely in Colombia and Spain. The way it is reportedly used is
to slip it into drinks or to suffuse it into ordinary paper like business cards
and hand such paper to a woman to help to call a number written on the paper or
to keep the business card of a painter, plumber or work-man or some such other
contact. The lady sniffs the drug in high doses infused in the paper and begins
to lose control and will power. The best thing to say is “ladies beware”of any
male approaching you and handing you a piece of paper.
Thought.com says, “Make no mistake, burundanga is
real. It is used in the commission of crimes. If you're traveling in a region
where its use has been confirmed, exercise due caution. But don't rely on
forwarded emails for your facts.”

What is Tubo-Ovarian Abscess?
Tubo-Ovarian Abscess
Dear Doctor Bibbi,
I
want to commend you for the way you solve peoples problem. I saw your
column in the Daily Sun newspaper and I really praise God for giving you
such wisdom. Firstly, my question is this -- what is Tubo-Ovarian
Abscess? What are the symptoms, causes and dangers? My friend asked me
to help her to ask and if there is any drug you can prescribe for
pityriasis versicolor. I am looking forward to your reply.
Thanks.
Modinat Fatiullai, Ilorin
Dear Modinat,
Tubo-Ovarian
Abscess (TOA) is a bag of pus—like a very big boil-- involving the
tubes and ovaries of a woman and causing, majorly, infertility. Pains in
the pelvis or lower abdomen, fever, a swelling in the lower abdomen,
sweating and irregular menses are some of the symptoms and signs to look
for. Also a Pelvic Ultrasound Scan will reveal details of the
condition. Any TOA is a matter for surgery by a competent
Obsterician-Gynaecologist. Infection of the tubes and ovaries by
bacteria are the culprits—germs like Staphylococcus,
Streptococci,Diplococcus, Neisseria etc cause it. Pityriasis Versicolor
is easily treated with antifungal creams; it is a fungal infection of
the skin. Call me and we’ll sort you out.

How Thirty-Two Years of Suffering Staphylococcus Ended
How Thirty-Two Years of Suffering Staphylococcus Ended
Dear Dr,
Just before Christmas last year, I came from across the
Niger to see you in Lagos concerning health challenges I have had since 1985
when I was 17 years old. My symptoms were hotness of the head, confusion or
decreased ability to reason, understand or calculate; on and off headache,
especially in the occipital area, dizziness, itching in the mouth and noise in
the neck with pains in the neck joints. I had decrease in the clarity of my
eyes; I could not see properly. I had itching of the eyes sometimes on, sometimes
off. I had bumps on my face, my teeth were coloured; there was fever and
hotness of the body, severe waist pain; general body itching after bathing;
muscle pains radiating from hip to legs like muscle pull; and weakness of the
muscles. All these issues began in 1985 with urinary pains or dysuria; sexual
weakness; only one round; premature ejaculation; urinary urgency; loss of
balance as I walk; hoarseness; heat in the body; sleep deprivation; shock; skin
gone lighter; pains in the tongue; halitosis or smelling mouth. My finger nails
were unhealthy; they seemed bitten by some strange thing. I suffered repeated
malaria and typhoid. I had a scaling rash in the groin. The laboratory examined
scrapings from my nails but detected no fungus.
When we met at your clinic, I told you doctors had diagnosed
Staphylococcus. You took time to listen to me and interview me thoroughly and
then you conducted a complete physical examination on me after which you
diagnosed a Chronic Urinary Tract Infection in concurrence with a Chronic
Prostatitis; Chronic Candidiasis of the Groin all due to a state of Lowered
Immunity; to rule out Spiritually Inflicted Disease Entity or State
You assure me that despite my sufferings of the last 32
years, with your treatment I would be free. Over the next 3 days, you did all
within your power to give me the best treatment that science, medicine and
prayer could offer and I am happy to state categorically that after 32 years at
last I am well; totally well without a single one of those weird symptoms
remaining.
Thank you, doctor. I am really grateful. Keep up the good job
Ebere Worah,
Port Harcourt, Rivers
Dear Ebere,
You (and all other sufferers )are welcome. 2017 from 1985 ámounts
to 32 years. To become free from such trouble which in your case, you told me
stopped your advance to university to study Law for which you had already been
admitted before the disease set on, is very spectacular. It is a great
achievement. Congratulations. Take all your prescribed medicines and you will
never see such suffering or such disease any more. Chronic Prostatitis(CPR)
causes a persisting Urinary Tract Infection as is well known. CPR also demands
long and enduring treatment; so once again, make sure you stay the course and finish
your prescriptions. Staphylococcus or
some other germ like Escherichia Coli, Chlamydia Trachomatis, Klebsiella spp
etc can cause your disease but the thankful thing is that we now know and recognize
they are simply the offshoots of Lowered Immunity. In other words, it is
because of the fact that your immunity has been lowered below what is normal that
those germs can come and torment your system ; and, in fact, did so in your case
by afflicting you with recurring malaria and typhoid fever. You also needed to
be treated for what is called Somatization Syndrome or Anxiety Neurosis,
manifesting as all kinds of feelings of things moving, crawling, disturbing in
your system. Some authorities also call this Somatization “Formication”. For
any Chronic(or long-term) condition, the doctor must keep an open mind. Could
the patient be having deep-seated Spiritually engineered roots as source of his
never- ending fountain of disease? The simple way to be reasonably sure of that
is to ask about the patient's dreams. If night-mares are prominent, as you
admitted to me when I queried you in that area, SIDE
(Spiritually Inflicted Disease Entity) is very likely. All such conditions need
Prayer Therapy in addition to other treatment and we are Specialists in that, thank God. Once
again accept my congratulations as I sincerely pray and declare your healing to
be permanent .
Cheers

Mystery Condiiton
Mystery Condition
Dr Caleb,Good day, Sir.
I
don’t know what's wrong with me for close to 3yrs now, I have been
having pimples on my face, arms and some other parts of my body. They
just appear, within a week they go and appear somewhere else again. I
also have itchy scalp and other parts of my body sometimes, coupled with
a burning sensation on my lips and under my feet that comes and goes. I
am also losing weight. I try to eat as much as possible but don't gain
much. I sometimes feel pains in my knees and elbows. I don’t know if
this is depression of some sort. I am scared of testing for HIV because I
really don’t know what the outcome might be. Please doctor, kindly
explain to me what could be the cause of all this, and what I should do.
I am beginning to be afraid that my problems may have a spiritual root.
What do you think? I will also like to find out the symptoms of HIV and
if they all appear at once or singly. I will be awaiting your reply
soonest. Thank you Sir and God bless you
John Jerry Isoun, Bayelsa
Dear John Jerry
Yes,
some conditions may have spiritual roots but before we get into that,
physically, we will encourage you to go do your HIV tests. No, we do not
suspect HIV but know you do and understand that in any war it is better
psychologically for you to know what you are fighting. HIV symptoms can
appear in whatever combination and include skin rashes that won’t heal,
weakness from lack of enough blood or anemia, weight loss, thrush/ sore
throat/ mouth sores that refuse to heal, diarrhea, fever that is
unrelenting, swollen glands, joint and muscle pains. Whatever or
whichever symptoms you do or do not have, remember that ONLY THE HIV
TEST CAN TELL. Psychologically, we are going to counsel you and get to
the root of your depression. Spiritually, we will teach you to pray (any
and every religion-friendly) to God your Creator who will have mercy on
you. You will soon be so well sorted out you will wonder if your
illness was not just a dream. Just call the help-lines/send us an e mail
or text. You can also visit www.mediamedix.blogspot.com

How Can I Satisfy Her?
How To Satisfy Her
Dear Doctor,
I am 43 and a regular reader of your column. I have the embarrassing
problem of Premature Ejaculation. Embarrassing because my 36 year old outspoken
wife and partner complains of my inability to satisfy her; so she's now
unwilling to have fun with me anymore. I fear I may lose her but I love her so
much. Please help me. Thinking about sex now is a nightmare to me.
John Jasper James Alapere, Ketu, Lagos
Dear Jasper,
We've had a barrage of letters like yours asking the same question and
we promised to deal with it ;so here goes: A large number of men have this
complaint of Premature Ejaculation or PRJ which is defined as when a man
finishes sex (has orgasm or ejaculates) before the wife finishes or is
satisfied or has orgasm. While the secondary (or recent origin) type is caused
by an infection--usually of the Prostate--and must be properly treated by a
competent doctor to be cured, the primary type (of long term--began since the
man started having sex) of PRJ is usually psychological and due to inexperience
or over-excitement at the pleasurable sight of a woman. Tackle it this way
1)
Get your wife's co-operation by sitting her down and admitting to her
that you have a problem which she holds the key to helping you solve.
You need
a wife--a committed and understanding only partner not a termagant of a
girl-friend. This, apart from protecting you from AIDS and STD's helps
to
guarantee success. She realizes that there is no alternative to you. You
are in
it together. And you should spend and have time to work together on the
project
of making you the type of man that will easily satisfy her so she and
you both
can be as happy as you deserve to be. Commitment is the key. 2)Tell her
clearly
the problem-- let her see that you do not willingly stop the fun before
she
gets her own satisfaction--No. It is something you cannot control;
something
too big for you to handle something you have had no control over. But
now with
her cooperation, both of you can learn to gain control over it. She must
stop
seeing the problem as just your problem and start seeing it as her
problem
too--its robbing not only you but herself of her fun also!! 3)When a man
fails
to perform on the bed, it affects his self-confidence and subsequent
attempts
at sex carry that psychological overlay or disadvantage -- so she should
not
add petrol to the fire of your dying psyche by unending nagging,
complaints,
snide remarks and deprecatory behaviour either before, during or after
sex; for
this will give you low self-esteem and will guarantee that you never
perform as
you should anymore. Rather, she should turn around and help you (and
herself)
-- nagging hinders performance -- by heightening the man's anxiety.
4)Now listen
to this very important key -- women are naturally slow ; much slower
than men
in getting to the heights of sexual arousal, satisfaction or orgasm. So
start
to work on your woman a long time before sex. Compliments (nice remarks,
praise, appreciation) works wonders on women. No criticism, no trouble
before
going to bed -- this puts her in the right mood to sexually ignite
faster. 5 ) In bed, forget yourself and concentrate on her.Men almost
always do not need any foreplay. But women need it like hell. So spend
very good time arousing your woman as you hold her close, kiss her,
whisper sweet nothings --"I love you"-- touch her and gently stroke her
body -- as she directs you. It's like bringing her up to the sexual
height where you have already climbed...

I'm Losing My Erection & Can't Make Love
Losing My Erection;Can’t Make Love
Dear Doctor,
I have a problem that is multi-pronged. It all started last year when I was hospitalized due to bronchial pneumonia. I recovered to find out I no longer had a job. This took its toll on me among other disappointments. To my problem proper; I tried making love to my fiance a month after my illness, but discovered to my chagrin that anytime I attempted wearing a condom, I lost my erection. All subsequent moves to get it back, results in involuntary emission. Initially, I thought it was a result of the illness so I waited for another month before trying again and the same thing happened. I tried again the third time and it became worse; terrible. By this time my fiance had already lost patience with me and broke up. Again, that first month, my fiance showed me a lab result that she had scanty growth of staphylococcus and candidiasis. At first I was worried, but I remembered that I just came out of the hospital where a lot test was carried before my subsequent treatment. Since the doctor didn't mention anything like that, I just shrugged it off. Could this be related to the problem at hand? Though I thought it was more of psychological than physical since I was kind of depressed. I have already encountered worse emotional problem before and my performance was not in any way affected, so I was really disappointed that it is happening to me now, especially when I’ve promised never to make love without a condom until I get married. I tried sorting things out with my fiancé but she seems to be so sure that the episode will repeat itself and since the last day she no longer loves me. I am really worried about this development, please advise me as it is affecting me emotionally, and has ruined my love life, even worse than my unemployed predicament. I would be very much obliged if you could send your prognosis of the situation to my e-mail address as I will be traveling to a location where getting a newspaper to read is not easy, so that I can read it immediately I come back. Thanks,

Dear HS,
If you simply send an e mail to betterloverz@yahoo.com
you will get a full understanding of how to sort yourself out. You have Chronic
Prostatitis (CPR); that's all. This condition does all what you have reported
and more-- lowers sperm count and causes male infertility. So it negatively
affects both virility (ability to be a stud--be powerful on the bed and really
do your woman to satisfaction) and fertility (ability to impregnate a woman and
father kids). The germs you mentioned above-- Staphylococcus aureus and Candida
albicans happen to be major culprits in causing the disease along with Escherichia
coli. Others include Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis and other Gram Negative
bacterial organisms. Your condition will not go away unless you treat it and
treatment is not straightforward as many physicians fail to cure it --quite a
number feel it’s just a question of psychology and others think you do not get
any sexual effects when you have CPR--or in other words, CPR causes no sexual
complaints but the truth is that the disease cripples a man sexually- fewer
rounds than before, loss of sexual hunger or libido, weakened morning erection,
soft erection, premature ejaculation, lowered sperm count, frequent night
encounters with sex called wet dreams, etc. The psychological angle has some
truth to it but not in the way surmised (frequent failure with women eventually
makes a man avoid women and sex) and in some cases, you need spiritual help to
tackle the sex in dreams complication. Treatment is not simple -you need
prolonged treatment with appropriate and high dose antibiotics and a few other
bits of deep understanding of both the mind and the spirit to tackle the
disease successfully which we do very well. If you follow our prescriptions and
advise you will get rid of it. Just call the helplines

I Have Banned Sex With My Husband
I Have Banned Sex With My Husband
Dear Dr,
Because we are growing older and for the sake of greater convenience, my husband and I keep a plastic container under the bed as a urinal which gets emptied by us in the morning. I have noticed that there are flaky whitish sediments in the urine when I dispose of it in the morning and I became apprehensive. I insisted on laboratory examination which showed nothing wrong. By getting two different containers, I have been able to discover that the sediments come from my husband’s urine. Again, laboratory evidence is zero. I am worried, because on google, infection is mentioned. For this reason I have stopped allowing my husband to have unprotected sex with me; I don’t want any infection. I have been demanding condoms which he refuses because to him they are ridiculous. This has led to a stalemate. Please advise me what to do. Thank you
Shirley Madumere, Enugu
My dear Shirley,
The word infection can be the cause of a lot of unnecessary scares if not correctly understood. But t to escape the fear snare, here is wisdom. It is Sexually Transmitted Infection you want to run away from. When infection is not qualified by the phrase “sexually transmitted” there is very little to worry about. You see, the vagina itself is not sterile but contains a lot of germs (although beneficial). The astute physician knows what to treat and what to ignore, even when laboratory results show what looks like infection. This is because isolating certain germs in medical tests of urine and semen and even high vaginal swabs does not necessarily mean there is infection. Germs may be present in a beneficial relationship with the host; that is they may be living as commensals and not pathogens in the host’s system. Sediments can be present without infection of any kind. And even if true infection is present, it may be a general germ or a germ that causes only urinary tract infection which is not the same thing as a sexually transmitted infection. See a good doctor who will take time to interview, examine and lab-investigate both of you and get to the root of this. But don’t shut down the marital bed because of so-called infection that cannot be found in medical laboratory tests but exists only in the realms of speculation. Such behavior is what causes even morally upright men to stumble. Stop the sex ban. Please be wise. You can call the help-lines.

Masturbating Seven Times A Day; Needing To Marry!!!
Masturbating Seven Times A Day and Needing To Marry!!!
Dear Doctor,
I love your column-and need
this urgent advice; due to my inability to mingle with the opposite sex-[i got
a history of 17 turn-offs-spurned because of
man-got-no-pay-syndrome and the so-called sanctimonious attitude of
our so-called born again girls-which leaves much to be desired! now-I masturbate
for like 7 times a day; I'm 30.never dated again in 9 months-and 4 years
running I've been so depressed and emotionally devastated to trust any
woman-will masturbation harm me? You are the doctor -please publish this and
send me a response- because, I won't be in town during this weekend-let others
read my example-those who suffer likewise- maybe you can tell me when we will
see when I get back-but write!
Thanks!
Georges Humbunu, Badagry
Dear Georges,
The truth is -- at 30 you
could be married and fulfilling both yourself and someone who is very likely
very lonely at this time. But what do we have? Masturbation -- from you and
maybe herself too --out of frustration. But is masturbation bad? Well-- for one
it is compulsive -- almost addictive; so that atimes married masturbators
prefer it to real intercourse! That's the problem and because nobody can
masturbate without phantasising, unsuspected invasion by spirits of incubi and
succubi is too common but hidden. But we can go beyond these real challenges--
how to get a lady to listen to you; how to settle down in marriage; how to stop
masturbating. Why should anyone masturbate when the real thing is available? We
can and want to take you to the place of fulfillment. All you need is proper
counseling and mentoring and you'll get there. Begin by befriending a few male
friends who seem to know what to do around the ladies and watch them. This will
help you focus on the area of your confidence. Be ready to follow guidelines
and instructions. Call the help-lines. Imagine how much STD we can prevent by
the proper counseling in matters like these!
Cheers

Chronic Illness After Sex Encounter
After Sex Encounter, Confused; What
to do?
Dear Dr,
I have been ill for roughly 2 years
now and all efforts to get lasting treatment have proved abortive. Symptoms are
recurrent waist pain, internal body heat sometimes at the sole of the feet,
stomach rumbling [sometimes noisy], recurrent sore throat, catarrh and cough
with chest congestion and sometimes pain in scrotum after a prolonged erection.
All this is always accompanied with persistent fever and sometimes dizziness.
Once or twice noticed sperm [like] fluid come out of the penis. I have treated
malaria and typhoid more than 10 times ever since after tests confirmed their
presence. Also 2 HIV TESTS have been negative. What do I do?
Murebo Takoto, Lagos
Dear Murebo,
Looking at all your symptoms, my
educated, experienced and professional guess is, you are looking for the answer
in the wrong place. Malaria and typhoid? I don’t think so. I think you had sex
with a certain girl. And this sex you had got you into trouble. You contacted a
disease called Chronic Prostatitis. It is what is responsible for your pain in
the scrotum after a prolonged erection and sperm-like fluid coming out of the
penis; stomach rumbling and waist pain. I will not be surprised if the germ
causing your problems is Staphylococcus. The way to find out and authenticate
or deny all this is to do a laboratory test of both your semen and your urine
called microscopy, culture and sensitivity. Because of the many complications
of Staphylococcus including a generalized depression of the sufferer’s
immunity, your malaria and typhoid and other diseases got at you and you have
not been able to cure them. The internal body heat and a times at the sole of
the feet are symptoms of what is called Somatisation Syndrome; a function of
anxiety neurosis which generally may follow problems with the genitals for men,
seeing that such challenges can be very stressful for men. You can get fully
well, but you must look for doctors who understand what is going on.
specialists called urologists and very good doctors are the category I am
talking about. Chronic Prostatitis never goes away without treatment--adequate
ones at that. So get to work to treat yourself. You can call the help-lines.
Cheers
